His registered name is Date for You — as if the universe itself put in a reservation. And indeed, once you’ve ridden Forrest, it is very difficult to imagine him belonging to anyone else. A palomino Westphalian gelding born in May of 2017, he arrived in the world with an easygoing air that immediately sets riders at ease and keeps them there.
Laid back and relaxed on the ground, Forrest carries himself with an unhurried grace that might, to the uninitiated, suggest a pony content to meander. But put a leg on him, ask for the work, and something remarkable happens: he transforms. The laid-back demeanor gives way to power, presence, and a through-the-back elasticity that makes the work feel effortless. He is easy in all his movements, fluid in his changes, and generous in his giving.
Forrest has made his home in Florida with an adult amateur who recognized in him exactly what his name promised: a date worth keeping. He is the kind of pony who makes you better simply by being willing — the sort of partner who gives everything when asked and asks only for kindness in return.
