But to those who know him best, he is simply Brego: a dun German Riding Pony gelding born in June of 2017 to the noble Gandalf and the lovely Hesselteichs Magic Day, and raised with all the pride and purpose his lineage suggests.
Brego is the kind of pony who moves as though he has an audience even when the arena is empty. His extensions are impressive, his presence unmistakable — and he knows it. Yet beneath the showmanship lives the quintessential German Riding Pony brain: easy, fun, hardworking, and utterly reliable in the hands of a devoted rider. He wants to show off, yes — but he also simply wants to work.
After his journey across the Atlantic, Brego found his home with an adult amateur in the rolling hills of Virginia, where he has settled into life as a dressage partner with the quiet confidence of a pony who has always known exactly where he belongs. He is grandios in name and in nature — a pony whose big extensions and happy heart make every ride feel like a fairytale.
