There are ponies who accept their calling quietly, and then there are ponies like Thorslunds Air Force One — ponies who wear their purpose like a crown and expect the world to take notice. A chestnut Danish Riding Pony gelding born in June of 2010, the son of CE Roberto and the lovely Fahrisha du Bois, he has never been the sort to undersell himself.
His early chapters were written in the FEI competition ring, where he carried a talented junior rider through the demands of international-level dressage — a junior who eventually, as all young riders must, moved on to horses. Air Force One was discovered at the legendary Helgstrand, where the world’s finest horses and ponies are brought to be seen — a setting that suited him entirely, for he is very much a pony who knows his worth.
With a fire inside him that never quite dims, this is a pony that needs to work — not because he is difficult, but because he is devoted. Devoted to the job, devoted to his rider, devoted to the idea that every day in the arena is a day worth giving everything. He has since found his next chapter with an adult amateur who competes in dressage, spending her winters in Florida with a pony who greets every morning like a call to action.
